Vinod Khanna was born on 6 October 1946 in Peshawar, British India (now in Pakistan). He was the son of Kamla and Kishanchand Khanna, a textile mill-owner. He had two sisters, Shashi and Renu, and a brother, Pramod Khanna. He studied at St. Xavier’s High School and Sydenham College in Mumbai.
In 1965, he made his debut in Bollywood with the film Man Ka Meet. He went on to appear in more than 100 films throughout his career. He was appreciated for his roles in films such as Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Amar Akbar Anthony and Qurbani.
