Looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and spend some time by yourself or with a few loved ones camping? Or maybe you want to switch it up and add some luxe and glamour by glamping?
Whichever it is, your go-to is likely to be a bell tent and particularly a Boho Bell Tent because of the comfort and large spacing it offers. In this article, we show you how to get started by setting up your bell tent in 5 simple steps:
1. Choose your location
Usually, the ideal location to pitch your tent is a flat surface with no stones, sticks or sharp objects. Some people may also prefer the Woods because of the shade from the sun it provides. But even at this, setting up under shaky tree branches might be risky, so go for cleared areas with little chance of any casualties’ happening.
2. Unpack the bell tent
Next, you unpack the bell tent from its bag and unroll it flat on the ground, arranging the tent door or entrance to face the direction you want it to face. Where you have a ground tarp as an extra tent floor, spread the tarp first and unroll the tent on the tarp, ensuring the tent floor is evenly spread out.
3. Peg the groundsheets
With the tent door zipped shut and Passing the tent’s metal pegs through the loops on the base sides of the tent, peg the groundsheets on the sides of the tent door to the ground first and then go around pegging all the sides of the tent, stretching from time to time to ensure they are well adjusted and not causing tension or wrinkles on the tent fabric. You might want to use a hammer to ensure the pegs are securely fixed to the ground.
4. Fix the poles
Thereafter, walk into the tent bare feet to avoid transferring dirt and debris to the tent floor and fix the centre pole and the tent’s door A-frame pole. First, install the centre pole by placing the top end of the pole into the centre cone of the tent’s roof, lifting it until it is vertically straight and the tent roof is raised from the ground.
Thereafter, fix the A-frame pole by inserting the spike at the top of the pole inside the fitting hole atop the door and the two side legs of the pole into the fitting loops at the base sides of the door. For extra support, tie the legs of the pole with the laces or strings provided at the base sides of the door.
5. Peg and fix the guy lines
Moving outside the bell tent and zipping the door shut, tie the guy lines around the tent and stake them to the ground using their metal pegs. First, tie the longest rope to the top of the tent door. Extending it out at the desired angle, stake it to the floor with the peg. Go on and do the same for the rest of the sides of the tent – all around, ensuring they are all tightly tied and securely staked.
That is how you set up your bell tent quickly and stress-free. What is your favourite use of a bell tent?
