    The NOC*NSF survey also looked at the reasons why people participated in sports. The most common reason given was to stay healthy, with 87% of respondents citing this reason. Other reasons given included to have fun (60%), to improve performance in a specific sport (34%), and to compete (24%).

    The survey also found that the majority of Dutch citizens (64%) reported being members of a sports club. This indicates that being part of a club or team was an important factor in motivating people to participate in sports.

    The survey also revealed that the majority of Dutch citizens (80%) felt that their local area had adequate facilities for sports. This indicates that the availability of facilities was not a major factor in preventing people from participating in physical activity.
