Farooq Sheikh was born on 25th March 1948 in Amroli, Gujarat. He studied at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai, and graduated with a degree in Law. He was also an accomplished cricketer and was part of the St. Xavier’s cricket team. Sheikh made his debut in Hindi cinema in 1973 with the film ‘Garm Hava’. He went on to act in several other films, including ‘Chitchor’ (1976), ‘Noorie’ (1979), ‘Shatranj Ke Khilari’ (1977), ‘Kissi Se Na Kehna’ (1983) and ‘Kamla Ki Maut’ (1989).
