Andrew Litton is an internationally acclaimed American conductor and pianist, best known for his work with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO). His musical career has taken him around the world, performing a wide range of classical music with some of the world’s greatest orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic.
Andrew Litton’s Musical Journey
Andrew Litton began his musical journey at the age of five when he began studying piano. He went on to study at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, where he honed his skills as a conductor. After graduating, he went on to conduct numerous orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Through his work with the RPO, he has become a champion of the music of British composers, including Elgar, Britten, and Vaughan Williams. He has also commissioned numerous new works by living composers, including Mark-Anthony Turnage and John Adams.
