The novel coronavirus has had a tremendous impact on the world, with millions of people around the globe being infected. It is important to take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and those around you from the virus. One of those precautions is to be aware of the possibility of being in contact with someone who is infected.
Precautionary Measures
In order to protect yourself and those around you, it is important to take the necessary precautions. These include wearing a face mask in public, washing your hands frequently, avoiding close contact with people who are visibly unwell, and avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands. Additionally, it is important to stay home if you are feeling unwell and to practice social distancing.
Contacting Someone with COVID-19
If you have been in contact with someone who has been confirmed to have COVID-19, it is important to take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and those around you. Firstly, you should monitor your health for any symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing. It is also important to contact your local health department for advice on how to proceed. It is likely that you will be asked to self-isolate for a period of time and you may be asked to take a COVID-19 test.
It is also important to remember to practice social distancing, wear a face mask, and wash your hands frequently. Additionally, it is important to inform anyone you have been in contact with that you have been in contact with someone with COVID-19. This will allow them to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and those around them.

Recently, myself and many other people have been faced with a difficult and unprecedented situation due to the ongoing global pandemic of the novel coronavirus, Covid-19. Amongst reports of people who have been affected by the virus, I recently found out that I had been in contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.
At first, I had experienced little in the way of symptoms and assumed I was safe. However, upon hearing the news and having to take further tests, I was more vigilant about any and all signs that I may have contracted the virus.
Initially, I was overwhelmed with worries and thoughts, such as: “What if all of my plans for this summer, family gatherings and more, are all invalidated by some foolish mistake I may have made in the past?” I had to remind myself that worrying is what was only going to heighten my stress levels and I hadn’t even received the results of my test yet.
Thankfully, my test came back negative, leaving me with a sense of relief. As I understood that it was only through luck and awareness (such as social-distancing and practicing good hygiene) that I managed to stay safe, I also felt a sense of responsibility, as I wanted to inform my friends and family about their own possibility of staying away from the virus.
At the end of all of this, I would like to advise everyone who is aware of someone who has the virus to take all necessary precautions, such as testing and trial periods of self-quarantine. I would also like to tell everyone else to stay aware and informed, as doing this is just another step they can take to stay safe. Additionally, if you are feeling any of the common symptoms, please take appropriate action and seek medical attention.
